Murchison Middle School

International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program

Murchison Middle School does not require an application for attendance.  All parents/caretakers will use the Enroll Austin app found in the Parent Portal.  For students that attend one of Murchison's feeder schools (Davis, Doss, Hill, Summitt, Zavala) you will indicate your "Intent to Enroll" at Murchison when it is shown as your home school based on your address.  

Students who live outside of the Murchison attendance zone will indicate that they wish to transfer when prompted in the Enroll Austin app.

Important Information for IB Curriculum Transfers:

  • The IB MYP has 8 subject groups that are required every year:
    • Language and Literature (ELA)
    • Math (Algebra and Geometry pathways are available)
    • Science
    • Individuals and Societies (Social Studies)
    • Language Acquisition (Chinese, French, German, Latin, Spanish, or Vietnamese)
    • Physical & Health Education (Dance, PE)
    • Fine Arts (Art, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Theatre)
    • Design/CTE (Robotics, Computer Science, Graphic Design, and Engineering)
  • All students participate in Community Service while at school.
    • 8th grade students are required to complete a Community Service Project individually or in a small group.
